Worth waking up for! Oscar winner Paddy Chayefsky’s Middle of the Night begins performances February 11 at the Clurman Theatre on Theatre Row. Tony nominees Jonathan Hadary and Amelia Campbell star in the Keen Company’s revival of the rarely produced 1954 comedy-drama. The off-Broadway show will play a limited engagement through March 29 and is set to open February 27.
Directed by Jonathan Silverstein, the cast will feature Nicole Lowrance, Todd Bartels, Alyssa May Gold, Denise Lute and Melissa Miller. The seven-member company will play multiple roles.
Described as a comedy about a May-December romance in 1950s New York City, Middle of the Night centers on a older Jewish widower (Hadary} and a young gentile bride (Lowrance) of another man, who meet and fall in love, throwing their disapproving families into a tizzy.
